about

Out of Place Austin, Texas

247 made his way into the Nashville, TN hip hop scene back in the late 2000's. Out of Place was formed in 2004 after 247's former group (IEnquiring Minds) took a short hiatus. Along with the help of turntablists Ugly Lovely & Black Cat Sylvester, they produced their first album "Genetic Defects". Track Name: Web
verse

sit at home with a pile of pictures painted on the canvas right be for me
caught beneath the undertow and pulled to every story
haven’t seen the sunlight in a matter days
and i feel a bit fatigued still i can't turn away
waiting for the right response
and something else to say
just a click away
add another friend to add for a day
it’s hard to know what's real as i escape through the dissonance
ever growing populous
to which i feel the opposite

hook

everything is too much
but nothing can be great
devastated by the lines we make to keep ourselves awake
falling for the bait
feel the hook but too late
want to escape
stuck in this way till it’s erased
Track Name: This Is Why
verse

hard days work
out the door faster than acquired
tired of the flat race
to be placed below
tried to except the flow
while my instinct rejects with no
feel the pressure build upon my thoughts but i slip not
write till my fingers bleed stop
watch another cop knock holes into piece of chalk
got to creep to walk
or be next dressed in side talk
the eyes watch
why
cause i can cry not
my life clock ticks
till the index rejects quick
black life matter erased by death grip

hook

some lose
some choose to take bruised attitudes
could be anywhere
longitude or latitude
it doesn’t matter cause the pressor seems to know you
another reason to why
the things you go through

verse 2

everyday i’m faced with the question of survival
will i make it as person when extermination rivals
the mind floods swept by a tsunami cage
can’t work let alone find a job that wants to pay
the lone way seems to be my option
and it speaks to me better than the normal clock in
not looking for the riches of these others painting pictures
just a simple lifestyle without the devious depiction
mischievous description
to visceral dispensation
modern lynching with a cell phone noose
ain't it funny how we got back to being strange fruit
walking down a new path to find the same rout

hook

some lose
some choose to take bruised attitudes
could be anywhere
longitude or latitude
it doesn’t matter cause the pressor seems to know you
another reason to why
the things you go through
Track Name: Stuck
hook

they tell me don’t fight for your life till the knife is gone
bleed inside out till the light comes on
barely made it through the night just to write this song
will you remember me when my only life is gone

verse 1

sometimes i feel i got no worth
like i’m less than dirt
ye it hurts watching people being erased from earth
sit and hear the clock tick thinking i’m next to burst
curst for the worst
though i speak here first
soon to be immersed in a presidential thirst
to reclaim a piece of earth
that was stolen at birth
measuring girth
no brain for activity burst
(i think it's the worst)
dividing up the moral then feast upon the images
white, blue, insidious
claim they read leviticus
bible belt botched by the code of the genesis
no freedom
apply cuffs then start snuff
another one bites the barrel of bullet dust

hook

they tell me don’t fight for your life till the knife is gone
bleed inside out till the light comes on
barely made it through the night just to write this song
will you remember me when my only life is gone
Track Name: Good Times
verse 1

try to say that it was better
but i think i always knew it not be
early morning class cover the heart praise flag
youth tainted
by option of the optical
reducing my approach to an unstable domino
topple over
helping to better fall in line
the good times
before cell phones could spot crime
when i couldn’t walk a block without fitting the description
friends lost
due to cost of our surroundings
no one to show the way out
and funds never stay stout
chose the lame route
fast food to gain clout
covered in greasy from head to toe and felt so despicable
making less than minimum on a job that leads me nowhere
no cares left
a silent breath seeks more
but how do i get up when i can only see floor
want to explore but ignored in the vast allure
memory searching
down to it’s very core

hook

when i was thinking back in the day
i’m glad it isn’t how it use to be
expose the nonsense
and unify through united
u - n - i - t - y
that's a true brief
let's make it happen for the youth to see

verse 2

seen it in a different light
and the plight to move along was a choice made to fight by night i was a traveler
using my surrounding to better shape the future
walk without a purpose
till the sun chose to surface
schooling made me nervous as i’m bullied down the hall
before the yes yah i guess i had to take a fall
use my legs to walk
yet i’m back to learning crawl
the memories are viscous but now i’m standing tall

hook

when i was thinking back in the day
i’m glad it isn’t how it use to be
expose the nonsense
and unify through united
u - n - i - t - y
that's a true brief
let's make it happen for the youth to se
